As a result of our partnership with Greenfleet, whenever you shop on LOrganic, we'll be able to offset 100% of the shipping-related carbon emissions.

Why is offsetting carbon emissions important?

We have always been conscious of our ecological footprint as organic, ethical, and sustainable retailers. We continually review our use of resources and try to minimise waste, and when possible, we use recycled, recyclable, and compostable materials. We are proud to have taken all of these steps, but we recognized we could do more.

We can help make our world a healthier and more sustainable place by offsetting shipping generated carbon emissions.

What does it mean to offset shipping generated carbon emissions?

Transporting customer orders across Australia requires energy and creates carbon emissions, and although the emissions produced by road transport aren't as high as those produced by airfreight, there is still an environmental impact in this process.

With every order that leaves our warehouse, LOrganic will contribute a fixed amount to Greenfleet. Greenfleet will use this contribution to plant native Australian forests.

How will this work?

Greenfleet will receive a report every three months on the number of orders we have shipped and the carbon emissions we have created during that time.

Trees will be planted in Australia using the funds raised by Greenfleet. Carbon pollution from the atmosphere will be captured by these trees, providing habitat for native wildlife, protecting biodiversity and helping to combat climate change as they grow. These forests will also improve the water quality in our rivers and streams as well as reduce salinity and erosion of the soils and provide crop shelter and windbreaks.

Will I need to pay extra?

You will not be charged anything extra for this. We hope that this investment will inspire other businesses to adopt a similar policy, as it is so cost effective.

We encourage you to ask your favorite online stores if they can offset their shipping-related carbon emissions as well.
